Mums Chinchilla

This is my most popular deviation. A cross stitched chinchilla for my mum. You see, she has a lot of rescued chinnies and her favorite is a Grey named Molly. Molly almost died giving birth to Fidgit which is why she's mums favorite. A year on and she still need regular veterinary treatment. I made this in her honor. It looks like her.

You may note that the eyes have a metalic thread in the reflection making them sparkle in the light.

Hang in There Gramma

This is my personal favourite. I ordered it for my gramma when I got told that she had cancer. It seemed so fitting and I was told that she had six months, so I began work on mums chinchilla first. That was to be a mothersday or birthday present. Well my dad told me a few weeks into it that if I wanted to do this for my gramma I had to start it right away.

My gramma didn't make it two months and she never saw this completed. She was my second mum in a lot of ways so when she died it hit me really hard. I couldn't even get out of bed in a morning some days and I just wanted to die and join her. But I finished this and put it in my hallway. Every time I see it, I think of her. This is my biggest accomplishment to date.

Newest

Here's a little sampling of what I've been up to recently. My four latest finishes and I hope that you enjoy them. If you like what you see here, why not check out my gallery too? But if nothing new has been added here in a while, you may want to wander by my scraps, I keep my WIPs stored there and you could get a preview of what's coming soon.

My specialization is needlework. As you will see, most of my deviations are cross cross stitched art works. I make cross stitched cards and sell them for a small fee.

I also model a lot and so you will see a few photos of me on here. Some I will be attempting to edit myself, others will be for sale. I hope to hear your feedback on them all.

And lastly, my pathetic excuse for drawings are also being submitted. I know they're not very good, but I enjoy doing them.

I hereby give permission for the groups listed below, to promote any of my art on their group page (by uploading it as a deviation) provided the comments link back to my originals.

So I'm finally doing an heirloom piece for myself. YAY! It's only taken me how many years? But now I have a little bit of a dilema. See I plan on signing and dating this piece... but I don't know how to sign it. You see the logical thing is to use my birth name (Deborah) But I never, ever use it. If anyone refers to me by my birth name, it's Debbie. But my friends, my family, even my previous boss all call me Angel, as does everyone online. I barely even recognise my real name these days. So I have no idea whether to use Angel or Debbie.

Also, should I start uploading my cakes to DA as well as my stitching?

Thank you ^_^

Yeah, I doubt they teach anything like the designs I have up in I am very glad that they teach this in your school. not many schools here teach anything like it, it's been slowly declining since the 20's. If you really like this sort of work though keep at what they're teaching you in schools, you can find all sorts of wonderful designs out there, learning the stitches is the hardest part.
